The Peacock Touch

From Dwell Studio, $58 each

The Peacock - one of natures most eye-pleasing creatures, and one of the great inspirations of design dating back to the 1800's. The Aesthetic Movement of design from 1860-1890 produced the illustrious Peacock Room designed by Thomas Jeckyll for a wealthy London business man Fredrick Leyland and featured the work of James Whistler.

Ok for today it might sound like your grandmothers tapestry or some ornate wall covering you might find in a museum or even a palace but why not bring a little luxe into your home? The rich colors of the peacock and the flowing forms of the feathers can continue to inspire us today just as it did in the 1800's.  It can be modern, it can be stylish, it can be fabulous! A little sprinkle of peacock will brighten any space - take a look at the pillows I have found guaranteed to add some exotic whimsy to your room.

Does anyone have a little peacock in their home? Please share!! (Good or bad =)
